North Shields DVD's

Here we have a few comments on our products

Thank you very much for the copy of your new North Shields dvd( The Way it Was.) I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and it brought back many memories of my young days in the town. I was particularly interested in a photograph of Baines shop in Bedford Street as the gentleman on the left of the picture is my great uncle Jimmy Lyons who was a candlemaker for Baynes. The pictures are very clear and it was interesting to see the conditions our ancestors lived in prior to the demolition of the low streets, neither wonder they had the terrible diseases they had. My grandfather John Matthew gray was a lighthouse keeper on the Tynemouth lighthouse and they lived in Milburn Place, I have done a bit of research on this area too and wrote a short piece for the History society, I dont know if this would be of any interest to you. My other grandfather Mark Watson was a trawler engineer and was born I am told in the Low Light, my aunt told me that they used to come straight out of the house onto the sands before the gut was put in. Unfortunately there are no pictures of my schools Spring Gardens and Ralph Gardner. I have a few school class photos one of Spring Gardens and one of Ralph Gardner which I would be prepared to let you have, together with one of a concert at Coach Lane Methodist Church. I will dig around my archives to see if there are any more which may be of interest to you and your group. Keep up the good work folks. Regards Margery White

Many thanks for delivery of 4 x North Shields and 2 x Tynemouth dvd. Watched them today and delighted. One set of each is now on its way to an old friend New Zealand. Interested in the Whitley Bay one when it becomes available. Many thanks Ron Pearson.
