_Cambois Rowing Club was formed in 1911 as Wansbeck Rowing Club. The headquarters was at Wheatley's Ferry point until 1934 when the name and headquarters were changed to the West Basin where the power station was before it was demolished. A further move to behind 'The Willick' in 1952 kept the club active. The present well-appointed clubhouse at Black Close is a credit to the club.
